Jackie will run her workshop at the Charroux festival after lunch on Thursday 24th August. She is the author of six gardening and wildlife books including Wild About the Garden (Channel 4 Books) and Your Wildlife Garden (2011). She is the former editor of the Garden Design Journal and a writer for the English Garden magazine.
Her writing awards include BBC Wildlife Magazine (1990) and the Garden Media Guild’s Column of the Year (2009). She was the winner of the Barn Owl Trust 2013 Wildlife Poetry Competition.
Her most recent books are The Writer’s Garden (Frances Lincoln 2014) and Shakespeare’s Gardens (Frances Lincoln, 2016) published in association with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
Alison Morton, writes the acclaimed Roma Nova thriller series featuring modern Praetorian heroines. She blends her deep love of Roman history with six years’ military service and a life of reading crime, adventure and thriller fiction. All five books have been awarded the BRAG Medallion. SUCCESSIO, AURELIA and INSURRECTIO were selected as Historical Novel Society’s Indie Editor’s Choices. AURELIA was a finalist in the 2016 HNS Indie Award. The sixth, RETALIO, is due out in April 2017.
A ‘Roman nut’ since age 11, Alison has misspent decades clambering over Roman sites throughout Europe. She holds a MA History, blogs about Romans and writing.
